THE FRUITS OF LABOUR OF NORTHERN UNIVERSITY

Within the framework of the ‘Best Research Project’ grant competition announced by Northern University, the winning monographs and ‘Hyusisapayl’ scientific journal were presented.

The winners of the competition announced in October 2020 were two works: the monograph ‘Issues of Art Education in the Context of the History of Armenian School and Pedagogical Thought (XIX – beginning the XX centuries)’ (project manager: Armen Lorents Harutyunyan, PhD, Associate Professor, Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology of Northern University) and the training manual ‘Management’ (project manager: Armen Jhughuryan, DSc in Economics, professor, Head of the Chair of Economics and Management of Northern University).

The honoured guests Ara Hakobyan (DSc, professor, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan), David Gyurjinyan (Head of the Language Committee), Narine Mirzoyan (PhD, Associate Professor, Chair of Management and Business of YSU) were invited to the presentation organised on the occasion of the winners of the competition and the release of the new issue of the ‘Hyusisapayl’ university scientific periodical. There were also students, representatives of the administrative and teaching staff of the university.

As Rector M. Makichyan noted in his opening speech, the promotion of research activities of the teaching staff, the creation of appropriate conditions for scientific activity has always been one of the strategic priorities of the university, and the ‘Best Research Project’ grant competition is aimed at implementing these ideas and will have a continuous character.

Speakers D. Gyurjinyan and A. Hakobyan highly appreciated the monograph ‘Issues of Art Education in the Context of the History of Armenian School and Pedagogical Thought (XIX – beginning the XX centuries)’ by A. Harutyunyan, emphasising the relevance and significance of the enormous work. They touched upon the remarkable aspects of the monograph, highlighting its role in the field of art education.

‘I looked with admiration at the pages of the work, which reflect the efforts of our great teachers, aimed at the artistic education of the younger generation in the difficult times of Armenian life. Even at critical moments, prominent cultural figures continued to educate Armenian children and adolescents, considering the spread and strengthening of national values ​​to be the key to the survival of our people. This gives us hope that today we can also come together and continue to create,’ said David Gyurjinyan, Head of the Language Committee.

Associate professor Narine Mirzoyan, referring to A. Jhughuryan’s training manual ‘Management’, among other advantages, emphasised the importance of the practical tasks included in it, noting that in the near future the training manual will be used at the corresponding faculty of YSU.

The participants also referred to the ‘Hyusisapayl’ scientific periodical. Professor Jhughuryan, who is the editor-in-chief of the journal, presented in particular the latest issue, 2(8) 2021, the fields of the articles included in it and the compliance with the requirements of the RA Supreme Certifying Committee.

Speaking about the scientific journal ‘Hyusisapayl’, vice-rector for Education, Research and Internationalisation at Northern University Lusine Fljyan noted that the university is making great efforts to include the periodical among the journals accepted by the RA SCC.
